These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Glare Books, a publishing marketplace based in the Kingdom of Bahrain ("Glare Books", "we", "us"). They govern your access to and use of our website, storefront, reader Library, and author tools (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, browsing, buying, or publishing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy or publish. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account, so tell us straight away if you suspect any unauthorised use.

Using the Service

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. You agree not to misuse it — including attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems, scraping content at scale, reselling access, or using the Service to break any applicable law.

Orders, pricing & payment

Prices are shown on each product page and the totals — including any shipping and applicable taxes — are confirmed at checkout before you pay. We make every effort to display prices accurately, but if a genuine pricing error occurs we may cancel the affected order and refund you. Payments are handled by a secure third-party payment gateway; we never see or store your full card number. Your order is confirmed once payment is successfully authorised.

Digital products & your Library

When you buy a soft copy, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to download and read it for your own non-commercial use. Digital titles are delivered to your in-app Library, where you can read them online or download them subject to any per-title download limit. You may not copy, share, resell, sub-licence, or publicly distribute digital files, or remove any rights-management or attribution information.

Printed books & delivery

Hard copies are produced and shipped from Bahrain to destinations worldwide. Processing times, shipping rates, tracking, and customs responsibilities are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Refunds & cancellations

Because digital products are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, sales of digital titles are generally final except where the file is faulty, corrupted, or materially not as described. For printed books, and for any statutory rights you may have as a consumer, please see our Shipping Policy and contact us — we will always try to make things right. Contact us within a reasonable time and include your order number.

Publishing with Glare Books

If you submit work to be published, additional terms apply. You keep ownership of your work and grant us a licence to review, list, and sell it; you pay a transparent publishing fee and earn a commission on each sale. Reviews & user content

You may post reviews and other content. You are responsible for what you post, it must be honest and lawful, and it must not infringe anyone's rights. By posting, you grant Glare Books a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and moderate that content on the Service. We may edit or remove content that breaches these Terms.

Intellectual property

The Glare Books name, logo, storefront design, and software are our property or licensed to us, and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Titles sold on the Service remain the property of their respective authors or rights-holders. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you beyond the limited licences described above.

Third-party services

We rely on trusted third parties — for example our payment gateway, hosting and database providers, and shipping carriers — to operate the Service. Their handling of your information is covered in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the content or practices of external websites linked from the Service.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind except those that cannot be excluded by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Glare Books is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant order in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms, create risk for other users, or are used unlawfully. Where fair to do so, we will give notice. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law & contact
